Before you book
What people ask us first.
- Is Abel a person?
- No. Abel is software, and we would rather say so plainly than let a name do the work. We give it a name because that is how your staff end up talking about it after the first week — "did Abel file that one yet" — and because it behaves the way a colleague does: you describe a task, it does the task, and it asks you when it is stuck.
- Does my staff have to learn anything?
- They have to be willing to answer a text message. There is no new system to log into, no queue to migrate, no change to how the fax inbox or the EMR works. Abel uses the same screens they do, and the only new habit is replying when it asks a question.
- Which EMRs does it work with?
- eClinicalWorks today. Abel works the way your staff do — signed in, in a browser, clicking through the screens — so any web-based EMR is in scope. If yours is web-based and is not eClinicalWorks, say so on the call and we will tell you plainly whether we can support it and when.
- What happens when it is not sure?
- It stops that item and texts the one person whose job it is, and it does not guess. The work falls back to your staff exactly where it would have sat without Abel. Nothing gets quietly decided to keep the queue moving.
- How do I know what it actually did?
- Open the console. Every run is there — the steps in order, the screens it acted on, what it changed, and what it cost. Including the runs where nothing went wrong, which are the ones worth spot-checking.
- How long before it is doing real work?
- About twenty minutes for the first task, and it is live when that session ends. Most practices start with one task and add more as they think of them — you do not have to map out the whole back office before anything happens.
- Can I turn it off?
- Yes, task by task, and all at once. Every task can be switched off on its own without touching the others. There is no contract to exit — the pricing is month to month.
Next step
Bring the task you keep meaning to deal with.
A demo is a working session, not a slide deck. We teach Abel one of your jobs on the call.
